The Refreshed Therapist Network: An Online Community for Therapists and Mental Health Professionals
Many of you have been following this blog since it began in August 2016, and as a result, you've supported the work that I'm doing. To you, and all the readers, I say, "Thank you."
If you've been an e-mail subscriber, you also know that I've been developing an online community for therapists, based on the idea that we can thrive in our lives and work when we have a network of colleagues that encourage and support us, as well as information that is relevant right now for our lives and our careers.
The impetus to start this community--The Refreshed Therapist Network--came from my own challenges blending my life and work in ways that allowed me to feel excited, energized, and at peace. The therapist life is hopefully a long one, because there are many possibilities for our work, purpose, and development. It is these possibilities that I, along with others, explore and offer in The Refreshed Therapist Network.
This network was created from my challenges as well as my curiosities. I have learned that many therapists land at a crossroads with their work, for a variety of reasons: They feel burned out, they want more time with family, they don't have the time to learn their craft, there is too much to learn in too little time, they feel disenchanted by the options offered to them by employers and the private practice culture. My crossroads came as I was building a thriving practice.
Because a community like The Refreshed Therapist Network was not available for me, I sought to create it for you, and other therapists and mental health professionals, so that you don't have to navigate the crossroads alone.
If you need support and ideas for the therapist life, I invite you to learn more about this community, and see why community like this is important--why community is also self care.
